Crabtree Memorial Bursary
The Crabtree Memorial BursaryWe are pleased to announce that this years Crabtree Memorial Bursary has been awarded to the Leeds City Ambassadors.
Leeds City Ambassadors, for those not familiar with them,
are a group of volunteers who play a role, during high-profile events such as
le Grand Depart/ Tour de Yorkshire, in welcoming visitors and residents to
locations within Leeds.
The bursary of £1000 will be used to harness the existing skills and enthusiasm of the Ambassadors in learning more about the history and built environment of Leeds. They will use their knowledge to promote and inform visitors and residents on the unique cultural and historical characteristics of the city.
They intend to set up subgroups with a named leader and each group will be asked to look at a specific locality/theme within the city. Those studies should also identify those places/amenities where improvements might be made for visitor experience and also the material will encourage visitors to experience less well known areas of the city.
We hope the award will benefit both residents of Leeds as well as visitors from far and wide.
