Behind the Facade: The Met Hotel Restoration Tour

Friday 23 May. 13:30-15:30. The Met Hotel. 

Join us for a special guided tour of The Met Hotel, a Leeds landmark known for its striking terracotta façade and Edwardian history. Learn about the recent restoration work inside and out, led by the hotel’s General Manager.

Join us from 13:30 for a welcome drink and introduction from General Manager Mike Lidle at The Met Hotel. After the welcome, the group will be split for guided tours of the recently restored interiors and exteriors.

Discover the story behind the building’s Leeds Civic Trust Blue Plaque and the work done to preserve this Grade II listed building.

Following the tour, we are delighted to share that the hotel will be sponsoring a complimentary traditional afternoon tea for all attendees, served in the hotel restaurant, as a commitment to their affiliation with Leeds Civic Trust.

Update – 13/05/2025. Afternoon Tea

We are delighted to announce that the Met Hotel will very kindly be offering a complimentary afternoon tea to all our guests after the hotel tour, served in the hotel restaurant.

Meeting point: Please make your way to the reception desk to register.

Accessibility: The main entrance to The Met Hotel is accessed via a small front staircase. For level access, please use the ramp to the right-hand side of the entrance or press the assistance button outside for help.

Parking: A limited number of accessible parking spaces are available and must be booked in advance with the hotel. These are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Public Transport: Leeds Train Station is just a 5-minute walk from The Met Hotel. Several bus routes stop nearby, including the 22, 33, 508, 60A, and 7.
