Work with us

Communications & Events Officer

(Closing date: 5pm on Wednesday 7th April 2021)

This post presents an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for communications and events support to help Leeds Civic Trust to develop new and exciting ways of engaging with the people of Leeds.

The opportunity

The Communications & Events Officer will support the Development & Engagement Manager in the delivery of high-quality communications, promoting Leeds Civic Trust and its projects in digital and print media, managing Leeds Civic Trust’s brand internally and externally. The role will also support the Engagement & Delivery Manager in developing and overseeing a programme of wide-ranging and creative events – reaching new audiences and developing a member and supporter base which better reflects the make-up our city.

In 2020 our trustees launched a new five-year Vision – this far reaching and ambitious strategy aims to diversify the work and reach of the Trust, develop new audiences, and ensure that the Trust remains a relevant voice into the future.  The Communications & Events Officer will therefore be joining the Trust at a pivotal and exciting time.

Working with us

The role is offered on a 35 hour, five day a week basis (Monday to Friday) at an initial annual starting salary of £26,000. Although the team is currently working from home, once social distancing restrictions are eased, we will expect staff to attend the office for some of their working week, though flexible working arrangements will continue to be available. Core hours are between 8am and 6pm. Where you are required to attend evening/weekend events and meetings (particularly during Heritage Open Days) we provide time off in lieu.  We offer a contributory pension and 25 days leave plus bank holidays and other holiday periods when the Trust does not work.
