Heritage Bus Tour – See Your City

Join us for a nostalgic journey through Leeds as part of Leeds Civic Trust’s 60th birthday celebrations! The Leeds See Your City Tour offers a unique opportunity to rediscover the city’s history and development, all while travelling aboard a vintage 1962 Leeds Daimler Double Decker bus, complete with a 1960s style packed lunch to enjoy during the tour!

Saturday 7 June. 10:30-12:30 / 13:30-15:30

This special bus tour is a recreation of the popular “See Your City Tours” run by Leeds City Council to show off the city to local ratepayers up until 1974. Step back in time and learn about the past, present, and future of Leeds with expert commentary from historian and Leeds Civic Trust Trustee Clifford Stead, as we visit key locations and notable developments throughout the city.

The tour lasts 2 hours and covers key areas of Leeds, including Quarry Hill, the Headrow, and Westgate. You’ll hear commentary on the Connecting Leeds Works and the large residential developments reshaping the West End and Kirkstall Road. Highlights include Leeds Minster, Aire Park, and Middleton Railway, with a comfort break at Kirkstall Abbey where you can enjoy your packed lunch in this beautiful setting.

This tour is a great way to celebrate 60 years of Leeds Civic Trust and explore the city’s transformation, from its industrial past to its exciting future.
