Leeds Civic Trust supports proposals released today for the first two mass transit routes linking St James Hospital and The White Rose Centre and Leeds and Bradford via West Leeds. The Trust has consistently supported tram proposals over the last 30 years and hope that these proposals will happen.
Reacting to the news that the West Yorkshire Combined Authority are set to endorse a submission to government for the first two mass transit lines connecting Leeds and Bradford and St James Hospital and the White Rose Centre, Trust Director Martin Hamilton said
“Leeds Civic Trust has consistently supported mass transit proposals over the last 30 years. Our city needs a modern and efficient transport for commuters and leisure users alike. After years of disappointment, we are hopeful that spades will hit the ground in the next few years.”
He continued:
“Assuming these outline proposals are approved, we look forward to seeing more detail about the proposed routes later in the year.”
