Conserving our Buildings
The Heritage Watch Group has been working with Leeds City Council's Conservation Team to update the Heritage at Risk List, which includes both listed and unlisted buildings in the Leeds area that are considered worthy of preservation. Buildings on our register are either Urgent (that is, in immediate structural danger) or At Risk (that is, vulnerable through neglect and decay).
Heritage at Risk Register
The main aim of the register is to stimulate action, we give the name of the owner where known; the next stage is to work with the owners and Leeds City Council to bring the most vulnerable and important buildings back from the brink.
Living in a Conservation Area guide and Heritage Shopfront Guide
In 2023 we launched two new guides in “heritage shop fronts” and “Living in a conservation area'. These guides provide practical advice for everyone who owns or operates a heritage property or lives and works in a conservation area.
