A Trip to 1960s Leeds – Run of the Mill History x Leeds Civic Trust

Step back in time 60 years and visit Leeds at the dawn of a new age with a time travelling resident!

Thursday 28 August. 12:30-13:30 / 18:00-19:00. City Square.

Update (24/07/2025): After the first walk sold out in less than 24 hours, we are pleased to announce a second walk on Thursday 28th August at 18:00.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Leeds Civic Trust, we are pleased to announce a collaboration with Run of the Mill History to present an immersive theatrical guided walk of Leeds in the 1960s, led by a young resident of the time played experienced actor and historian, Jude Kershaw.

Visit the city in a time when terraces made way for high-rise flats, Lewis’s and Schofield’s battled for customers and the first West Indian Carnival was taking place. Join our promenade into Leeds’ radical past!

This event is part tour-part promenade performance. This is a unique experience that shouldn’t be missed!

As a 60th birthday present, Leeds Civic Trust members will receive a discount on their tickets, no Green Shield Stamps needed!

Tickets:

  • £7  (7s/11d) Leeds Civic Trust members
  • £10 (11s/4d) non-members
