Leeds Civic Trust members only.
Thursday 19th March 2026, 1.30pm-3.30pm
The West Yorkshire Archive Service collects and looks after the unique documentary heritage of the region and helps members of the public use and enjoy these records. Their Leeds office (Leeds City Council’s Archive) holds records dating from the 12th century to the present day – over 800 years of local history!

Your two hour visit will include:
- A behind-the-scenes tour of the strong rooms
- A brief introduction to the archive service (the types of collections we hold, how to book in, how to order and handle documents)
- A display of treasures from our main collections to illustrate our holdings
- A chance to see the Inspeximus of the 1626 Charter of Incorporation
