Back and Forth – 1960s & 1970s Photography Trail

To celebrate our 60th anniversary, we are pleased to present a city centre photography trail, showing street scenes from 1960s & 1970s Leeds.

‘Back and Forth’ is a 6 stop photography trail showing street photography from the 1960s and 1970s. Swing by the locations below and search for our photograph in their window. The photographs show the location on the trail 50-60 years ago. Spot the similarities and the differences in what you see around you, and what you see in the photograph.

The trail will run until mid-September 2025. The stops on the trail are:

  1. Fred Aldous, 34 Kirkgate
  2. The Lamb & Flag, 1 Church Row
  3. White Cloth Hall, 27 Crown Street
  4. Farrands Bar, 18 Swinegate
  5. The Moot Hall Arms, 11 Mill Hill
  6. The Brewery Tap, 18 New Station Street
