Kirkstall Valley Farm Visit

In the urban heart of Kirkstall, on the edge of the city centre, is Kirkstall Valley Farm. The farm will soon celebrate its third birthday, but how many know about this facility? Join us to see what can be done with a plot of land on a flood plain with a group of people determined to make a go of things.

Tuesday 23 July, 14:30 – 16:00

Kirkstall valley farm is a community led farm just over a mile outside the city centre. The farm is a project of Kirkstall Valley Development Trust. The core business of the farm is to produce vegetables, providing veg boxes to around 100 households each week . In addition to this surplus veg is donated to local foodbanks, including their own food pantry.

The wider function is to offer opportunities for the Kirkstall Valley community to access the farm for educational and well-being events. The farm runs Healthy Holiday play schemes for children from low income families and have around 1000 children visit every summer for activities, where a hot lunch is provided for children and carers.
