Leeds Civic Trust are delighted to be unveiling our 194th blue plaque to celebrate Philip Naviasky.
Philip Naviasky was a portrait and landscape artist, who was born and raised in Leeds to Polish-Jewish parents.
Naviasky was noted for his paintings of local women and girls, he is also remembered for his portraits of Prime Ministers Winston Churchill and Ramsay MacDonald.
1894 – 1983
The unveiling will take place at Philip Naviasky’s home where he lived from 1926 to his death in 1983.

Philip Naviasky exhibition at The Left Bank
To celebrate the works of Philip Naviasky The Left Bank will be host to a wonderful collection of paintings, drawings and memorabilia of Leeds artist Philip Naviasky.
This exhibition will feature works from a number of private collections of Naviasky’s work which are rarely available for public viewing; alongside the exhibition there will be talks and workshops designed to explore the art of portrait and landscape painting.
