Useful Information
Date: Tuesday 11 February
Time: 13:00-15:00
Location: Calverley Old Hall, Woodhall Road, Calverley, West Yorkshire, LS28 5NL (What3words location: police.hunt.moons.)
Meeting Point: In the gravel car park area at the front of the site, just off Woodhall Road, outside the gate to the site.
Arriving by public transport: The 60/60A Airline bus runs between Leeds and Shipley and stops close to the bottom of Woodhall Road.
Arriving by car: From the junction of the A6120 outer Leeds Ring Road and the A657 Leeds to Shipley Road, follow signs to Shipley and Calverley. After about ¼ mile you will come into Calverley along Town Gate.
Upon entering the 30-mph speed limit, continue until you reach Woodhall Road on your left (the turning is opposite Town Wells Drive and a small public garden on the right). Turn into Woodhall Road and please park here – there is plenty of on-street parking. You will see the Hall on your right-hand side about 70 yards from the junction with Town Gate. After leaving your car on Woodhall Road, continue by foot approaching the site via the left-hand lane (as seen when viewing the Hall from the road). At the first gate you will be welcomed into the garden.
Accessibility: Gravel exterior pathway, no steps. Inside there is a lift that will take you to all levels if required. However the lift is not an emergency lift so the first floor is unsuitable for non-ambulant guests because the lift does not operate in the event of a fire or power cut. Visitors must make sure they can always evacuate themselves safely via the stairs. The ground floor is accessible as it is level access and there are 3 steps down to the Great Hall or a small lift down a few stairs.
