Clean Air Day Micro Grants
Calling all community groups, schools, artists, activists, storytellers and event makers!
Would you like to help make Leeds Clean Air Day the most impactful yet? Our Clean Air Day Micro Grants are intended to support events hosted during the annual Clean Air Day on or near Thursday 17th of June 2021. The theme for this year’s campaign is ‘protect our children’s health from air pollution’. Coordinated by the sustainability charity Global Action Plan, Clean Air Day brings together communities, businesses, education and the health sector:
- to improve public understanding of air pollution, both indoors and outdoors
- to build awareness of how air pollution affects our health
- to explain some of the easy things we can all do to tackle air pollution, helping to protect the environment and our health too.
Micro Grants to help host your event
Small grants of £50 to £250 are available from Leeds Civic Trust and the Leeds Clean Air Alliance, for community groups, schools, artists, activists, storytellers and event makers in Leeds to host an event.
What are we looking for?
- Events must take place on or near Thursday 17th of June*
- Events must be open to all members of the public
- Individuals or groups are welcome to apply
- Suggestions for family friendly events are especially welcome
*Please Note: The Trust is mindful that the current COVID-19 restrictions and roadmap out of lockdown may potentially result in the postponement of Clean Air Day 2021. This may result in this year’s awards also being postponed, but we will work closely with any applicant in these circumstances.
Be part of a national festival!
Clean Air Day, which is coordinated by the sustainability charity Global Action Plan, saw events ranging from walking buses and flagship announcements to electric vehicle roadshows, street parties, road closures and seminars. The day is supported by over 200 organisations including Public Health England, British Heart Foundation, DEFRA, UNICEF and various NHS trusts and local authorities.
