Tracy Brabin, the Mayor of West Yorkshire, is currently consulting about the future of bus reform across the region, proposing greater public control (known as bus franchising) as a way forward.
Leeds Civic Trust supports the Mayor’s proposed franchising scheme because it means that West Yorkshire could have a London-style system where the bus network is integrated, reliable and affordable.

We also point readers to guidance for responding to the consultation developed by the Better Buses for West Yorkshire campaign. You can send or adapt their template email, look at their bus consultation response guide and sign their petition in support of public control. The consultation is open until January 7th 2024.
