Explore the history of Thornton together with a tour of the refurbished birthplace home of the Bronte’s. (Leeds Civic Trust members only)
Tuesday 2 June. 13:00-16:00
Join us for a walk around the Bell Chapel and Market Street in Thornton, including a tour of the house where Charlotte, Emily, Branwell and Anne Bronte were born and spent their early childhood before moving to Haworth in 1820.
Following a successful crowdfunding campaign, the house has undergone a major nine-month restoration that concluded with an official opening by Queen Camilla on 15th May 2025.
Come and see the beautiful Posh Parlour, Georgian fireplace, the scullery with its historic range, and much more!
After the tour, you can have tea and cake in the tearoom (not included in the ticket price) and browse the gift shop.
This event is open to Leeds Civic Trust members only.
